Planning permission given for cancer support centre to be built in grounds of University Hospital Coventry

Thursday 09 May 2024

The new 性吧导航鈥檚 centre, which will provide expert support for people with cancer as well as family and friends, will be built in the grounds of University Hospital Coventry.

性吧导航鈥檚 Chief Executive Dame Laura Lee said:

We are delighted to have planning permission to build our new 性吧导航鈥檚 in Coventry.

We have been working with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust for many years to bring our expert support to the people of the West Midlands, so it is wonderful we are now a step closer.

Professor Andy Hardy, Chief Executive of UHCW NHS Trust, said:

I鈥檓 delighted to hear that we are a major step closer to having a beautiful new 性吧导航鈥檚 centre on site here at University Hospital Coventry.

The centre will make a real difference to patients who come here from across the area for treatment, as well as their family and friends.

The patients we care for are often tired, stressed, and emotionally and physically drained by their illness, so I鈥檓 sure they will very much welcome having this fantastic facility and additional support from 性吧导航鈥檚 specialist staff, which is designed to complement the work we do here.

Architecture and design

The new centre will be designed by Jamie Fobert Architects, with a focus on well-being and sustainability, including the use of natural light and natural materials.

It will support the 135,000 people living with cancer in the area. It is hoped the centre will be open by 2027.

We are  to deliver the centre in Coventry.
